Aerated concrete/gas concrete dowel GB Concrete
APPLICATION: Aerated concrete/gas concrete and lightweight blocks.
Our aerated concrete/gas concrete plug is a special plug for secure fixing in aerated concrete/gas concrete. Its special shape ensures simple and very stable fastening in all types of aerated concrete and other lightweight building materials.
Why is a special anchor important for use in porous/gas concrete?
In general, aerated/gas concrete is a very special building material. It is highly porous and has a very low density. Due to its good thermal insulation, it is often used for the masonry construction of external walls. However, due to its porous structure, not every plug can be used in this building material. (Please note that the porous/gas concrete plug GB Concrete is not approved for use in the building supervisory area, such as the fastening of roof structures or façade constructions, in accordance with DIN). With a normal anchor, it is hardly possible to find a proper hold in the building material, let alone fasten load-bearing structures such as railings or handrails.
What is special about our GB aerated concrete/gas concrete dowel?
Our GB Concrete aerated concrete/gas concrete anchor is perfectly designed for use in aerated concrete/gas concrete. Its specially shaped outer ribs enable fast and extremely secure anchoring and thus enable very high holding values. Due to its low density, porous/gas concrete has a very individual pressure distribution. This means that you cannot simply use any anchor for fastening. This in turn would exert unfavorable pressure on the stone due to the shape and structure of the outer ribs. This inappropriate pressure distribution can cause the stone to crack or split open. To prevent damage to the building material even after fixing, our aerated concrete/gas concrete dowel ensures a form-fit connection.
Brief overview of aerated concrete/gas concrete plugs:

- Can be used with all standard screws
Building materials:
- Cellular/gas concrete
- Other lightweight materials
What should I bear in mind when using the aerated concrete/gas concrete anchor?
As with other plugs, you must first drill a hole in the building material for fastenings. This should correspond to the diameter of the plug. It is important that you clean the hole thoroughly afterwards so that there are no building material residues in it. Now you can simply insert the plug into the hole. Under no circumstances should you use a hammer to drive in the plug. Using a hammer can very quickly damage the porous/gas concrete. This should be avoided at all costs, otherwise it can no longer be used for fastenings. Insert the aerated concrete/gas concrete plug by hand and tighten it carefully. You can easily screw the special plug into the hole using an Allen key or hexagon key. This allows the aerated concrete/gas concrete plug GB to set properly and develop its excellent holding values.
Does the special anchor for aerated/gas concrete also need special screws?
Our aerated concrete/gas concrete anchor can be used with conventional screws (as long as they comply with DIN). Standard wood screws, universal screws and machine screws are ideal for achieving a positive fit with the aerated concrete/gas concrete anchor. This is extremely important for railings, for example, as there must be no play even under high loads.
Summary:
Our aerated concrete/gas concrete dowel is versatile and guarantees a high level of safety thanks to its approval with safety factor 3. The properties of the dowel are outstanding, especially for form-fit connections, and also ensure maximum hold in other areas of application. So play it safe and opt for the aerated concrete/gas concrete anchor from KTS. Because we keep our promises and ensure maximum safety for your projects.
